Both microfibre duvets and down duvets filled with duck or goose down are washable at 60°C – ideal for allergy sufferers and hygiene-conscious sleepers. It is important to ensure that there is enough space in the washing machine to protect the materials.
For down duvets, it is particularly important to dry them thoroughly in the tumble dryer afterwards: use dryer balls or clean tennis balls to fluff up the down evenly and maintain its loft. The drying process should be repeated several times until the duvet is completely dry – this is the only way to prevent mould growth and preserve the volume.
The more carefully you care for your bedding, the better it will meet your comfort requirements and the more hygienic your bed will be. Duvets need plenty of fresh air in the morning so that they can release the moisture absorbed during sleep. Open the bedroom window and shake the bedding lightly. We recommend washing duvets once a year to ensure long-term freshness and quality.
